Following on from the outcomes of the School and Industry Leaders Forum (SILF) in 2008, the Student to Industry Program (SIP) in conjunction with Career Advice Australia is providing more opportunities for industry to link with schools.
Career Advice Australia (CAA) is an Australian Government initiative that strives to help all young Australians make a smooth transition through school and on to further study, training or work.
As part of this SIP and CAA encourage industry to take an active role in shaping their future workforce and support schools in assisting the students in their pathways and choices.
Eight Industry Information Breakfasts are being held across ten industries to give industry representatives the opportunity to meet directly with school Careers Advisers and National Industry Career Specialists (NICS).
The Breakfast will be followed by a SIP Trip, where attendees will be taken to industry sites specific to the industry to view the breadth of each business and the employment opportunities that exist within them.
