Southern Oceania Probikx/ Champbikx BMX Series 3pm to 5pm

5 & 6 March 2010 in the lead up to the ACT BMX State Championships. ACT BMX will host Rounds 5 and 6 of the Southern Oceania Probikx/ Champbikx BMX Series. Round 5 at the Tuggernaong VikingS BMX Club, Sulwwod Drive Kambah.

(This is the Supercross of BMX where the Probikx Series caters for Elite and Junior Elite athletes and the attached Champbikx Series is for rising stars in the 14, 15 and 16 year age categories)

Jared Graves Olympic finalist and current World Mountain Bike Champion joins Kama Kazi who took lengthy breaks from BMX after the 2008 Beijing Olympics have both made a dynamic return to BMX in this Series, with Graves winning two Rounds at Nerang in early January. They will join fellow Olympic team member Luke Madill and young gun Sam Willoughby who is the current 2009 World Junior Elite Champion to produce World Class BMX action at this event. In the Elite Ladies, we have World No.1 Mountain Biker, National Team Member and Canberra local Caroline Buchanan who is racing strongly and presently one of the leaders in the Australian leg of this Series.

In Junior Elite, Ryan Henderson from the Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Club is looking to use his home track advantage to gain a podium finish in these rounds. In Champbikx, Canberra will be represented by Harriet Burbidge Smith who will be competing in the 14 year old female class. Harriet finished 2nd in both of the early rounds and looking for one place better on her local tracks.

Movie night out at the Yass Swimming Pool  7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

What are you doing on Australia Day?

Do not miss out the great entertainment at yass swimming pool when yass valley youth council host a movie night for everyone.
This involves a large screen being erected on pool grounds with a projected movie to be watched from the pool!!

Commencing at 7.30pm the movie will Get Smart featuring Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 will entertain the crowds and also you may be lucky to meet the local up come radio personality Andrew who host saturday avro's show from Yass FM will be attending the night.
Entry in the swimming pool is $2.00 pp or $10 per family (note that season passes do not apply for this event).
